EMILION COLLECTION

The paintings in the Emilion collection are inspired by my time in the South of France in the summer of 2022.  We stayed in the heart of a stunning vineyard not far from the historic town of Saint Emilion.  I was struck by how orderly the vineyards were… lines and lines of careful planting which gave the landscape a majestic feel.  What really took my breath away though was the stunning sunrises that greeted me every morning and the sunsets with their transformation from dusky pinks to fiery reds.

As with all my artwork, the idea of a painting is an emotion, a feeling.... it's a painting first and subject matter second. It is trying to capture the memory of my feeling in a landscape.  In this collection the long hot days of a glorious summer.
