Vine Rows in Lavender Light

Vine Rows in Lavender Light

A3  original alcohol ink artwork on Yupo paper (with mount)

This A3-sized alcohol ink painting on Yupo paper captures the rolling elegance of the Émilion vineyards in the south of France — reimagined through an abstract, dream-infused lens. The landscape is painted in rich shades of violet, plum, and sage, evoking both the sun-drenched warmth of the region and the deep, wine-soaked history of its soil.

The composition flows in undulating horizontal bands, echoing the terraced rows of vines that stretch across the hills of Saint-Émilion. Each tier is softly rendered in flowing ink — some more structured and linear, others loose and organic — suggesting vine rows, distant hedgerows, and the rhythmic patchwork of cultivated earth. A gentle gradient of purples suffuses the sky, with a soft celestial glow above — as if dusk or dawn is washing the scene in ethereal light.

To the left, pale silvery trees stand like quiet sentinels, while the foreground holds a cluster of fine black ink marks that hint at the delicate spindles of winter vines or newly planted stems. On the right, a softly abstracted slope hints at the edge of a rustic estate.

The atmosphere is tranquil and luminous — a vineyard not just seen but remembered, with its textures softened by time and sun.

As with all original artwork  non reflective glass is highly recommended  when framing as it protects the painting.
