Sunfire Cascade
This striking artwork, created with alcohol ink and gold leaf, is a visceral and luminous expression of contrast and movement.
A rich, gleaming expanse of gold leaf crowns the composition, evoking the sense of a scorched horizon. Below it, a river of molten crimson and rust cascades downward in fluid vertical trails, like a bleeding cliff edge or the aftermath of a sun-drenched landslide. The inks have pooled, bled, and mingled into shades of burnt orange, plum, violet, and earthy brown—dripping toward a base of softer hues: blush pink, pistachio green, lemon yellow, and pale sky blue, which flicker through like hints of life beneath a storm of intensity.
The contrast between the rigid, reflective surface of the gold and the organic, uncontrollable flow of the ink creates tension and drama. There’s a sense of eruption or unraveling—a moment suspended between beauty and collapse.
