In Steps into the Aegean (Sunrise), the ladder invites you to leave the shore behind and descend into the calm waters of the Aegean. Beyond it, the rising sun sits low on the horizon, its golden reflection stretching across the sea like a path leading into the distance.
Created using the cyanotype process and finished with hand-applied gold leaf, the work transforms an ordinary morning into something timeless. The rich turquoise evokes the cool tranquillity of dawn, while the gold echoes the first warmth of the sun.
