Gilded Earth
This striking artwork is a fusion of alcohol ink and gold leaf, creating a rich tapestry of texture, colour, and movement. The bottom two-thirds of the composition is dominated by cascading, vertical rivulets of alcohol ink in hues of crimson, rust, rose, and blush, interspersed with cooler tones of lilac, teal, and slate. The ink flows to form abstract, organic shapes that evoke the impression of weathered cliffs.
Above this vibrant, fluid base lies a sweeping band of luminous gold leaf. The gold appears textured and slightly distressed, catching the light with a brushed metallic sheen that contrasts beautifully with the translucency of the ink below. It acts as both a horizon and a crown, offering a sense of stillness and radiance against the dynamic forms beneath.
The interplay between the grounded intensity of the inks and the celestial shimmer of the gold suggests themes of transformation and inner alchemy.
