Falling Edge
62 x 43 cm
Alcohol ink and gold leaf on board, sealed with clear resin.
A sweeping band of deep crimson and rust cuts across the surface like a coastline in motion — raw, unstable, and quietly powerful. Inspired by the crumbling cliffs of the Jurassic Coast, the composition captures that fragile boundary where land meets sea, and where time is visibly at work.
Layers of alcohol ink flow and fracture, forming natural fault lines. Above, gold leaf settles like a burnished sky, contrasting with the intensity below and catching the light as the piece moves.
Encased in a clear resin finish, the surface takes on a glass-like depth, preserving the sense of movement within stillness — a moment held just as the edge begins to fall.
