Aegean in Ember
62 x 43 cm | Alcohol ink on board, sealed with clear resin
Inspired by a Santorini sunset, Aegean in Ember captures the moment the sea absorbs the last heat of the day. Volcanic mountains stretch across the horizon, their contours softened by distance and atmospheric glow, while bands of crimson, scarlet and molten orange flow horizontally across the surface.
The elongated format enhances the sense of panorama, allowing the horizon to breathe and the composition to unfold with cinematic sweep. Layers of alcohol ink create depth and translucency, with fine lines tracing the caldera’s edge against the burning sky.
Sealed beneath a high-gloss resin finish, the colour intensifies — luminous, reflective, and richly saturated. The surface holds light much like the sea itself, mirroring the final embers of sunset.
Both expansive and controlled, this work embodies warmth, power and stillness.
Please ignore the reflection of me taking the photograph.. resin is highly reflective and has a glass like quality which makes it difficult to photograph
Price is for the unframed work
